The Expedition Everest ride is the most popular ride in the Animal Kingdom. It's one amazing roller coaster ride through the "snow-covered" mountains of Everest. Your train climbs up a mountain, only to find what appears to be a broken track- which sends the entire train flying backwards down the hill. You encounter a rather grouchy yeti (abominable snowman), who is not too pleased to have visitors.
Check out this video below to see what it's like to be inside Expedition Everest. Even though the video does a nice job recreating the experience, there is nothing like being there experiencing all the special effects.
Be sure to check out the age recommendations below.
Ages 3-6- Some kids may meet the height requirement of 44 inches, but this is definitely too intense for the under 9 crowd.
Ages 7-10- The 7 and 8 year olds certainly meet the height requirements, but the ride is likely to be too scary. The yeti himself may be frightening enough, let alone all the drops, both backwards, and forwards. The braver 9 and 10 year olds are likely to be ready for this expedition.
Ages 11 and up- Teens absolutely go wild over this ride and want to do it again and again. Adults enjoy it as well, but most of us don't have the stamina for repeat rides!
