Hollywood Tower Of TerrorThe Hollywood Tower Of Terror is an amazing display of special effects and exhilaration. The attraction replicates a Hollywood hotel in the 1930's and the story begins, "It was a dark and stormy night..." The hotel was struck by lightening, and the five hotel guests in the elevator were never heard from again...assumably sent to the Twilight Zone. The ride begins with a spooky pre-show of the Twilight Zone tv clips and next you move through the line in a boiler room style basement. Once you board the elevator, you are taken through a hallway of holograms and spooky images. You then move back into the elevator shaft, and are plummetted many stories below. It is a random computer system of drops, so there is no way to expect what will happen next. You can plummet, be taken back up, and drop again several times. The randomness adds to the excitement. Even though the video does a nice job recreating the experience, there is nothing like being there experiencing all the special effects. Be sure to check out the age recommendations below. Regardless, kids in this age group would be absolutely terrified- even the braver ones. Ages 7-10- Kids ages 7-10 will meet the height requirement, but this ride is better left for kids at least 9. They are likely to enjoy the spooky factor, but the drops are way too intense for under 9. My 10 year old ranks this as one of his top favorite rides because it is "very fast" and has "cool random drops." Ages 11 and up- Teen love the thrill factor and adults appreciate the neat special effects like the spider web covered hotel, holograms, and backdrops.
