The Star Tours Disney World ride utilizes motion technology to make you feel like you are dodging astroids at lightspeed. Based on the Star Wars series, your spacecraft is on a wild mission to Endor. The mission, of course, goes a wrong direction, and faces battles with the Death Star and the Dark Side. The special effects and motion make this an intense ride.
Check out this video below to see what it's like to be inside Star Tours. Even though the video does a nice job recreating the experience, there is nothing like being there experiencing all the special effects.
Be sure to check out the age recommendations below.
Ages 3-6- The 40 inch height requirements limits the younger ones from riding. Even if they are able to ride, I would say that this ride is too intense for kids under 6. The intensity of the motion and feeling of moving a hyperspeed sends many kids "over the edge." My then 6 year old cried a times in the ride, and there were several kids in the 4-6 year old range actually shrieking throughout the ride. Use this one with caution.
Ages 7-10- Kids this age love the special effects and motion technology. Unless they are motion sick, this will be a very popular ride- especially with Star Wars fans.
Ages 11 and up- Both teens and adults love the special effects. However, if you have even mild motion sickness, you will want to avoid this ride. It is very jostling and left me a little too queasy for me to consider it fun.
