The Stitch Disney World ride, also known as Stitch's Great Escape, is located in Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland. You might remember the former ride Alien Encounter, which was replaced by the Lilo and Stitch attraction.
The attraction tell's the story about how Stitch came to Earth. Stitch is being tracked down by the Galatic Federation and the audience is asked to assist in keeping him under lock and key. A good part of the adventure is spent in the dark, with lots of special effects used to keep the audience on the edge- never knowing what might appear next to you.
While the special effects are very good, be forewarned that this is not for kids under 8. The tends to be the biggest problem- Stitch appeals to the younger group and they are just expecting a mischievous little character and his antics. You do get that- but a little too much scary (see the age recommendations below). As for kids ages 8+, Stitch is not quite as popular. It just seems that the target audience was a little miss-hit by Disney. Unless it's a particularly low-traffic day, this attraction is not worth the wait.
Check out this video below to see what it's like inside the Stitch Disney World ride. Even though the video does a nice job recreating the experience, there is nothing like being their experiencing all the special effects.

Ages 3-6- The Stitch ride should definitely be avoided for this age group. I think even the bravest would find this to be too much. There is one cute part where Stitch is "spitting" water into the audience (preschoolers love this), but the rest is just too scary. Kids that are afraid of the dark or loud, sudden noises should avoid this one.
Ages 7-11- My 7 year old was pretty unnerved by the whole thing. Some of the braver kids may do ok, but for most, use a little caution. Ages 8 and up should be fine and will enjoy the special effects with loud noises, flashing lights, and an escaping monster run by in the dark.
Ages 12 and up- Teens may find the special effects entertaining- but not Stitch himself. It's a character for younger kids and they are likely to resist even going to the attraction. Adults could definitely skip it unless you have a child ages 8-10 who just loves Stitch!
