Universe Of Energy RideThe Universe Of Energy Ride is most known for its amazing animatronic dinosaurs. As you go through the ride you can even smell the coal smoldering! The first part of the ride is a fun pre-show movie with Ellen Degeneres. Based on the TV show Jeopardy, Ellen and Jamie Lee Curtis (as a super smart character) vie for the Jeopardy Energy Championship. With a little help from friend Bill Nye the Science guy, Ellen is taken through many adventures learning about energy and the importance of conservation. Next, Ellen and Bill lead you through an adventure with amazing life-like dinosaurs and backdrops. This 30-minute ride is great to save for the afternoon. After a long day of walking this is a welcome place to rest. Check out this video below to see what it's like inside the Universe Of Energy Ride. Even though the video does a nice job recreating the experience, there is nothing like being there experiencing all the special effects. Be sure to check out the age recommendations below. Especially boys who are infatuated with dinosaurs! The only exception is kids who are particularly sensitive to the dark of the large dinosaur figures. The dinosaurs do make their dino noises, but it's not particularly loud or scary. Most kids are only afraid of the "idea" of seeing big dinosaurs rather than actually seeing them on the ride. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't give any advance warning to my youngest about seeing a few dinosaurs. He was more afraid of the anticipation, rather than what the ride was actually about. Ages 6-10- This is a must see for this age group. It is amazing recreation of prehistoric times, and would be easily described as "cool" by any child in this age range. Ages 11 and up- As with the 6-10 year olds, it's a favorite with everyone 11 and up. Teens might not be quite as impressed with it as adults, since it's not particularly scary. But, it's a great chance to cool off and rest in the afternoon.
